Ten Things Meme
Dec. 8th, 2005 10:13 amAs I'm relaxing today, I thought I'd catch up on a meme that I've seen circulating around these past few weeks.
So, here are ten things I assume you know about me.
1. I am Episcopalian. That's a branch of the Anglican Communion. It means that I'm Christian, somewhat more high church than many other denominations. It also means that I got raised to think about my faith, question parts of it, and come to my own opinions. My faith is important to me, and I try to live by it. Whether I succeed in doing this is a matter of opinion. I've got a long way to go.
2. I am a liberal Democrat. It doesn't mean that I follow my party blindly, but on the whole I agree with the left on most issues.
3. I'm the third child out of four, in a very loving if more than a little insane family. My family means the world to me.
4. I'm a college student, working towards a Masters in Physical Therapy as my ultimate goal. Right now I'm working on my Bachlors, focusing on Biology and Religion. I love my major and my ultimate goals in life, even if I don't like all the intermediate steps to get there.
5. I'm a sci-fi/fantasy geek, born and bred. I grew up on Chronicles of Narnia, Pern, and Star Trek.
6. I'm a terrible bookworm, and I have been since I learned how to read in second grade. Alright, I could technically read before then, but it was hard work without my glasses on.
7. Not only am I still a virgin, I haven't ever had a real boyfriend. (And yes, as far as I can tell, I am heterosexual.) This doesn't really bother me, although it does get amusing when everyone comes to me for help with their relationships.
8. I am a cat person, again, born and bred.
9. If you are my friend, I consider you one for life. My friends are family to me, I love them even when they drive me nuts, and it takes a lot for me to stop caring about you.
10. I name things. All of my teddy bears have names, as does any stuffed animal owned by a member of my family, and most of the stray cats around the neighborhood. Names have been important to me, for as long as I can remember, possibly as a result of having read/been read Madeline L'Engle for so long. Sadly, in my real life interactions with people, it takes me forever to learn names. I'm better remembering your online names than most of the people I see every day.
As I've been typing up this list, it's been snowing outside. There's a white dusting covering the walkways. We're supposed to get about two inches today. Boy am I glad I chose yesterday to pick up presents for people!
