Feb. 14th, 2006 12:36 pmYeesh. The past few days have been busy, I've been meaning to do a real update for a while.
Yesterday I met with the Dean of students, and she had me fill out the paperwork to withdraw for the semester. I'll be leaving for home on Saturday.
I also filled my new perscription yesterday, thanks to a friend who cheerfully gave up an hour from her day to take me to the pharmacy. It was a one-dose antibiotic. It's rather...effective would be a good word, I think. I haven't coughed since I drank down the whole dose. On the other hand, the side effects are ones I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The worst of the nausea dissipated by this morning, but the headache is rather persistant.
Sunday was also interesting. It was Founder's Day at UE, so we had a guest speaker in to do the sermon. Apparently, he is considered one of the most highly effective preachers in the US. Frankly, I thought he was okay. I also thought that I've heard better sermons, sermons that made me think more, from my parrish priest. I guess it all depends on perspective.
I'm rather glad that I don't bother with the Valentine's Day mess. It's a nice concept, but it just gets blown all out of proportion. Really, the best thing about it is that it's relatively easy to buy roses for my mother's birthday. Of course, my opinions on the matter might shift when I actually have a romantic relationship, but right now I don't care. The only time it bothers me is when I see something like what happened to bethy, who got a rather nasty comment attached to one of her virtual gifts. Really, why anyone would waste their money to send such a cruel message is beyond me.
Oh, and apparently new people have friended me. You're always welcome, please comment and tell me how you found me. I like new friends, but I like to know who they are.
