May. 4th, 2006 06:49 pmAs I was walking down to the library this morning, the heel of my sandal broke off. I managed to walk the rest of the way to the library, and I planned on spending a few hours there and then telling Mom about it when I returned.
Then by brother's school called, telling Mom to go get her kid, he's sick. Rather than take three small children and load them into the back of the car, Mom called the library and told them to send me home. I ended up just taking off both of my shoes and walking home barefoot rather than deal with the hassle of the one sandal's heel.
So after lunch, when the kids were down for their naps, Mom took me shopping for a new pair of sandals. And in the middle of the store we ran into an old friend of mine. She had been a part of the same religious dance group I'd been in during high school. I do believe I was the only member of that group under the age of forty. Still, it was nice to see her again.
