Mom got several small presents from me, instead of anything big. However, I know she actually appreciated the stovetop being cleaned off, not having to wrestle Sara during church, and the rather stupid little poem.
The rain ruined our main Mother's Day tradition, which is planting the front garden.
Our other Mother's Day tradition, however, is that we go to the Alter Spring Musical. This year they did Seussical, and I have to say it wasn't one of their better efforts. The actors did a wonderful job, especially Andrew Short, who played The Cat In The Hat, but the sound was messed up, so that the individually miked cast members were too loud and the chorus was too soft. Therefore, certain songs hurt your ears, they were too loud, and other times you couldn't make out what they were singing. The lack of Mr. Crawford's perfectionism was deeply felt.
