Er, so this comes straight from my last post's comments. LJ, this is all your fault.

What Dreams May Come
Sometimes, there is life after death…

The explosion had rocked the neighborhood. No one could understand what had happened. By the next morning, the following facts were known: a house that none of them could remember being there the previous day had been utterly destroyed, and a young man had been hurtled into George Sheppard’s backyard, badly injured. He had promptly taken the boy to the St. Luke’s, the nearest hospital.

The next day, no one else seemed to remember anything about the incident. When Sheppard would mention it, his neighbors started giving him strange looks, and asking him if he’d gotten enough sleep. Behind his back, they were more blunt, and popular opinion held that the American military man had gone absolutely barmy.

To convince himself that he was sane, Sheppard took to visiting the young man in the hospital. As long as the boy was there, he thought, there was some outside evidence that something had happened.

Three weeks passed before the boy who had landed in his azaleas woke up.
That's what I've got right now.

Yahoo!! Can't wait for more. (I like the parallel with the azaleas; nice.)

I can't believe it took you this long to start writing! They'll never let you stop now; you know that, right? Hehehe, I have brought you over to the dark side...One could turn it around and say that since you originally got me into Atlantis, it's all your fault. But I won't. I will gladly take the credit, I mean blame;), for this.

You egged me on, it's all your fault about this story. I still don't write nearly as well as I read/edit the stuff. The next test is to see if I can manage dialogue.

And of course I start by writing about John Sheppard, who's the main character I identify least with on Atlantis. Except maybe for Ronon.

Hey, you're challenging yourself. Expanding your horizons, and all that.

Well, technically you started with Carson -- who you obviously identify the most with ;). And writing about opposite characters can be very...enlightening. When you have to get inside their head, you realize (at least a bit) what makes them tick.

Hmm, rambling. Anyway, yes, excellent work so far!

True, but I didn't set out to write him, that just happened. This I'm planning out, and working on an acutual plot.

Expanding my horizons. I'll go for that. It's either that or I'm becoming even more obsessed.

And thanks!

I got a little further, and now I'm heading in for the night. I'll try to work on it tommorow, along with doing the edits. Last free day before classes start.
