For jadeites_lady, because she asked.
Jun. 2nd, 2006 10:22 pmHe'd stopped her outside of Charms, her last class of the day. His grey eyes were serious as he asked her to stop and talk with him for a moment.
She'd talked with him several times before, and they'd always gotten along, outside of the standard Quidditch rivalry that came from playing the same position on different teams. But still, she couldn't imagine what he'd want to talk with her about, especially not with that grave look on his face. He seemed almost nervous, somehow.
He led her away, out of the crowd of the main hallways and staircases, to an empty classroom, then turned to face her. He swallowed several times, and opened his mouth to speak twice before he managed to produce a sound.
By now she was worried. Cedric had never acted like this before. For an instant, she wondered if something was wrong, before dismissing it. He had close friends in his own house, in his own year. Why would he come and confide in a fifth year Ravenclaw who was barely an acquantance? She rushed to speak.
"Cedric, is there something you needed from me?"
Blushing, he smiled, before clearing his throat and asking, "Cho, will you go to the Yule Ball with me?"
There, are you happy now?
