Jun. 24th, 2006 08:45 pmBusy day. Or, at least it felt like a busy day. It might just be that the caffiene in the soda is making me sleepy again.
Sara and Thomas are both back home. Apparently, the camp counselors at Sara's camp enjoyed her so much they threatened to keep her when Mom and Dad showed up to bring her home. I'm not that suprised, Sara is definitely the charmer of the family, and she had a week to work her magic on these counselors.
Today started relatively early, when Mom had to take Ginger to the vet for her yearly checkup. We were especially worried about a lump in her side that the vet had noticed last year. Mom came back with good news and bad news. The good news is that Ginger does not have cancer. The bad news is that the lump was a pellet from a pellet gun. A few years ago, we had neighbors whose son liked to go around shooting everything with this pellet gun, buildings, windows, passing cars. Either he hit Ginger by accident, or he deliberately shot at her. This is the reason I don't believe in the boy-next-door myth.
In better news, I got to hang out with my friends
x5_jondi and
lady_tigerfish this afternoon.
lady_tigerfish has been working at the Human Race Theater with a children's program. Today marked the end of that program, and they put on a play. Chronicles of Narnia, to be exact.
lady_tigerfish was running around before and during the play working, and
x5_jondi and I got to sit and watch. And really, for a group of 8-12 year olds, they did a wonderful job. I have to give special props to the girls who played Jadis, Lucy, and Mr. Tumnus, as they all really stood out in their roles.
After the play,
x5_jondi and I helped
lady_tigerfish and her bosses clean up and break the set, before we took
lady_tigerfish out for ice cream and conversation.
So it was a busy but fun afternoon.
