Good things about Cityfolk Festival

1. The main thing was, I got to spend time with two of my best friends. We spent several hours together, just talking and enjoying each other's company and our in-jokes. We spend so much of the school year separated at our various colleges, so I treasure the time together.

2. All the different music and exhibitions! From Andesian flute, to wandering belly dancers, to an African-Carribean fusion band.

3. The food! Okay, so I was nice to myself and my wallet, I only bought a portabello mushroom burger and a shaved ice thingie, but I got to look and smell to my heart's content. Cityfolk tends to bring a mix of typical streetfair food and some insane and very good unique foods.

4. Lack of crowds. Normally it's so bustling that you can't see three feet in front of you, but we lucked out today, maybe because of the heat, and it wasn't too bad.

Bad things about Cityfolk

1. Despite my fervent attempts to slather sunscreen on, I still missed a spot in the middle of my back, probably on my reapplication since it is only dark pink, not lobster red or garnet.

2. My shins are yelling at me for all the walking I did today.

All in all, a good day.

Wow, that sounds awesome. Reminds me of a thing in Seattle called FolkLife. My friend works it every year and I got to go one time. Fun stuff!

Glad you had a fun time! Hope your sunburn and soreness get better soon. :)

Probably very similar. It's a street festival that celebrates a lot of the various different cultures in Dayton. It's only topped by the Celtic Festival that gets held late in July.

Soreness is gone, sunburn is healing, but still annoying.

Haha... the sunscreen thing just amuses me so much for some reason. Glad you had a good time.

Glad to know my ouchy back amuses. I'm just annoyed my arms didn't reach far enough in the proper position. Curse my Irish complexion!

...Okay, so it is a little funny when I think about it.
