Dec. 28th, 2005 10:45 pmI seem to be in a fandom mode this week. Sadly, I haven't had much to talk about this week in real life. I've just been reading lots of books, which, while fun, is not exactly thrilling journal material unless I know other people to discuss it with. In light of that, I'm jumping on this bandwagon:
Name a fandom you know I know and I'll tell you:
1. The first character/person I first fell in love with
2. The character/person I never expected to love as much as I do now
3. The character/person everyone else loves that I don't
4. The character/person I love that everyone else hates
5. The character/person I used to love but don't any longer
6. The character/person I would *ahem* anytime
7. The character/person I'd want to be like
8. The character/person I'd slap
9. A pairing that I love
10. A pairing that I despise

Date: 2005-12-29 11:03 pm (UTC)2. Neville. I didn't even think about him at first, but now he's my favorite character. I'd be most upset if he doesn't get a good life in the end.
3. I don't really like Ron. He's got a lot of good points, but he's the one who most consistantly grates on my nerves.
4. In this fandom, everone is alternately loved and hated. Sadly, many people seem to hate Tonks, maybe because she messed up Remus/Sirius, maybe because they felt she fell apart too much in HBP. But I love her.
5. I don't have as much of a bond with Hermione anymore.
6. Remus. Or Neville in about five years.
7. Professor Sprout. After what she said at the end of HPB, and her general attitude throughout the books, she's just a beautiful person.
8. During most of OoTP, I really wanted to slap Sirius. I understood what was happening to him, but I still wanted to slap some sense into him, then sneak him out of London and let him run around as a dog in a park somewhere.
9. Remus/Hermione. They could work.
10. Ron/Hermione. They don't seem to respect each other and they keep fighting the same battle, and they get vicious with each other. To me that's not passionate, that's scary.

Date: 2005-12-29 11:17 pm (UTC)As for LOTR
1. Frodo.
2. Sam. He's someone I care deeply about.
3. Legolas.
4. Boromir. I've always seen more in him than the betrayal
5. Frodo, actually. My love for him waned a bit when I fell in love with Sam.
6. Aragorn.
7. Galadrial.
8. Tom Bombadil. He just got annoying after a while.
9. Eowyn/Faramir.
10. Merry/Pippen.

Date: 2005-12-30 01:59 am (UTC)2. Elizabeth, actually. I didn't like her that much in the Stargate episodes, and then I fell in love with Torri Higginson's portrayal.
3. Sheppard. I don't hate him, but I'm not head over heels for him like I am for most of the others.
4. You know, I don't understand why, but most people don't like Elizabeth. I really don't get it.
5. None really. I still love the ones I started out loving.
6. Zelenka. He's so cute, and with that accent, and even though I love Rodney, I want a Zelenka of my own.
7. Elizabeth has so many traits that I'd love to have.
8. Ford. I want to knock some sense into him so badly.
9. Do I even need to say it?
10. This should also be obvious. I haven't seen a Sheppard/Weir that I like and that fits the characters. I would love to see someone prove me wrong on this though.

Date: 2005-12-30 04:38 pm (UTC)2. I really grew to love Numair.
3. Jonathon. He lost me when he decided to be obnoxious with Alanna. I like him as an adult, but I don't love him anymore.
4. Dedicate Crane. And in the Tortall series, I don't think many people love Keladry like I do.
5. Jonathon again.
6. Neal.
7. Lark, from the Circle series.
8. Alanna at times. She's great, but she can get annoying. I like her more as an adult than I did when she was a teen.
9. Daine/Numair
10. Jon/Alanna. It just was not going to work, they both needed different things.

Date: 2005-12-30 04:31 pm (UTC)2. Scott.
3. I never felt much for Wolverine.
4. Scott again.
5. Rogue.
6. He's blue and furry, but he's also really sweet and intelligent. I'll go for Beast.
7. I wouldn't mind being like Professor Xavier some day.
8. It would break my hand into little pieces, but Wolverine.
9. Scott/Jean.
10. Logan/Jean.

Date: 2005-12-30 04:26 pm (UTC)2. Teal'c.
3. Mitchell. I like him, but not the way I like the rest of the characters.
4. Many people don't seem to like Dr. Lam.
5. I don't love Daniel as much anymore.
6. None, actualy.
7. Janet.
8. Maybourne.
9. It's old-school, but I really like Jack/Sam.
10. Nothing off the top of my head.

Date: 2005-12-30 04:50 pm (UTC)1. Valentine.
2. Petra.
3. I'm not a major fan of Peter, even in the Ender's shadow books.
4. Many people don't like older Ender, but I do. I like what he became.
5. Alai. I could see how he could become what he did, and in the end he works, but I did not like his transitions.
6. All of them are a little cold for my tastes. Most of them are the Slytherin/Ravenclaw personas. They're very focused on their goals, and not in a way that I can easily identify with.
7. None really.
8. Ender's wife. I'm blanking on her name right now, but she got on my nerves at times.
9. None really caught my eyes.
10. Nothing I can think of. The canon pairings are there, but they don't inspire me or annoy me.
